Alhaj Mahbubul Alam, The Chairman of M Alam Group is a leading business icon of Bangladesh. Born in a Muslim family at Chattogram, the Port City and Commercial Capital of Bangladesh, he started his business in early 1980s and in almost 4 decades he has expanded his business across diverse sectors around the country.

Mr. Alam has been elected as the President of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), the oldest and one of the largest chambers of Bangladesh, for 5 consecutive times (2013 – till date) which is a manifestation of his iconic stature and strong credibility among the business community of Chattogram hence Bangladesh.

Mr. Alam was awarded both CIP (Trade) and CIP (Industry) Award by Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh. He is a devoted philanthropist who contributes wholeheartedly for the society.

He completed his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Master of Arts (M.A) with dignity from University of Chittagong.

Mahbubul Alam reelected as Chittagong Chamber president for fifth time

Mahbubul Alam, chairman of M Alam Group, has been reelected as the president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) for the fifth consecutive time for 2021-22 and 2022-23 period.

Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin, director of Saif Powertech Ltd, and Syed Mohammad Tanvir, director of Pacific Jeans, have been elected as senior vice president and vice president respectively.

PH Ambassador Meets with Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Officials

After the meeting, Ambassador Bandillo also visited the World Trade Center in Chittagong to check the Bangladesh export quality products.

Chittagong must be given the importance it deserves and concrete steps need to be taken to convert it into the real 'commercial capital' of the country, said the newly-elected president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The port city is still fighting for the importance it deserves, and is yet to become a real “commercial capital,” said Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President, Mahbubul Alam, in talking to the Dhaka Tribune’s Shariful Islam in an exclusive interview, noted that concrete and timely steps are needed to turn the city into a commercial hub.
